Four mobile operators of the country could not pass the standard set by BTRC in the fourth generation internet service (4G) test. This information was found by analyzing the data provided by the telecom regulator BTRC on Wednesday and the results of the survey conducted by the four departments in 2019. According to a survey by the regulatory body, telco subscribers of Dhaka have yet to provide a minimum of 7 Mbps internet speed as per the standards set by the BTRC. The BTRC conducted the survey from January 23 to February 8 in two city corporation areas of Dhaka. The results show that Grameenphone and Robi subscribers are getting 5.72 Mbps, Banglalink subscribers 4.94 Mbps and Teletalk subscribers 2.62 Mbps. Which did not meet the requirements of the BTRC standard of service. Earlier, on April 26, 2019, BTRC published a survey on the quality of internet service in four divisions. The survey was conducted in Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal and Rangpur divisions. According to the survey, none of the operators could pass the standard set by BTRC in 4G in these four categories. Earlier, BTRC had conducted the same survey in Dhaka. There was no speed at the prescribed rate in 4G.
